Welcome to B&N Miniature Dachshunds!
We’re Brianna and Nathan, husband and wife of three years and proud parents to our daughter. We’re blessed to call Nathan’s family’s century farm in Stoutland, Missouri, home, where we live alongside his parents. Our farm means so much to our family, and we’re grateful to be building our life and our program right here.
Our story began with one very special little dachshund, Weenie Grace.
Before Weenie, we never imagined that we would one day have a breeding program. But from the moment she came into our lives, we fell completely in love with her personality, her attitude, and everything that makes dachshunds so special. She had a way of making us think, “Everyone needs a Weenie!”
That one little dog sparked a love for the breed that quickly grew. What started with one became two, then five, and eventually grew into B&N Miniature Dachshunds.
More Than Just a Breeding Program
For us, raising dachshunds has become something we can build together as a family. We always knew that when we had children, we wanted the opportunity for Brianna to be able to stay home and be present for our family. Our program has helped us work toward that goal while allowing us to do something we genuinely love.
B&N is primarily a kennel-based program, with both indoor and outdoor runs and heated and cooled buildings to keep our dogs comfortable throughout the year. While most of our dogs are raised within our kennel environment, we occasionally bring a momma into our home when she needs some extra time, attention, or one-on-one care.
Our dogs are not simply breeding dogs, they are a huge part of our family and the foundation of everything we are building.
Our Breeding Philosophy
The one and only: Weenie Grace
Our goal at B&N is to produce the best quality miniature dachshunds we possibly can.
When planning a pairing, we look at the entire picture. Temperament, structure, health, genetics, and overall quality all play an important role in our decisions. While we absolutely love beautiful colors and coats, color will never come before quality and health.
We health and genetically test our adults and carefully consider what each pairing can contribute to the next generation. We are continually working to improve our lines and bring the best genetics, structure, health, and temperament possible into our program.
Our hope is that, with time, we can continue to grow while maintaining the foundation that B&N was built on and introduce some beautiful colors along the way without compromising the quality behind them.
Finding the Right Families
One of the most important parts of what we do is finding the right family for each puppy.
We want our puppies to grow into cherished family members and bring their new families the same kind of joy that Weenie Grace brought to us. More than anything, we hope our families fall in love with their B&N puppy and, just like we did, discover a lifelong love for the dachshund breed.
B&N Miniature Dachshunds will continue to grow, learn, and improve, but our foundation will always remain the same.
